Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government implemented a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 29 IAS officers, including 13 district magistrates, on September 14, 2024. Among the changes, Ravindra, the principal secretary for agriculture, has been given additional responsibility as the director of Mandi Parishad. This follows the appointment of Anjani Kumar Singh, the current director of Mandi Parishad, as the district magistrate (DM) of Mainpuri. Singh takes over from Avinash Krishna Singh, who has been appointed in-charge director-general of technical education.

Other significant transfers include Bhanu Chandra Goswami, the DM of Agra, who has been moved to Lucknow as in-charge relief commissioner, consolidation commissioner, and special secretary for revenue, replacing Naveen Kumar GS, now secretary of irrigation. Vishal Bhardwaj, previously the DM of Azamgarh, has been assigned to Kushinagar as the new DM, replacing Umesh Mishra, who takes over as DM of Muzaffarnagar.

Navneet Singh Chahal, DM of Prayagraj, has been appointed as DM of Azamgarh. Ravindra Singh, DM of Shamli, has been transferred to Fatehpur as its new DM, while Ravindra Kumar Mandar, the DM of Jaunpur, takes over as DM of Prayagraj. Arvind Kumar Bangari, previously the DM of Muzaffarnagar, will now serve as the DM of Agra, while Dharmendra Pratap Singh, special secretary for urban development, has been appointed as DM of Shahjahanpur. Dinesh Chandra, special secretary for sugar industry and cane development, becomes the new DM of Jaunpur, replacing him is C Indumati, the former DM of Fatehpur.

In other moves, Arvind Kumar Chauhan, vice-chairman of the Prayagraj Development Authority, has been appointed DM of Shamli, while Ghanshyam Meena takes over as commissioner of Firozabad Nagar Nigam. Rahul Pandey, DM of Hamirpur, has been shifted to Hathras as DM, and Nidhi Gutta Vatsa, currently the commissioner of Bareilly Nagar Nigam, will assume duties as DM of Amroha.

Further changes include Umesh Pratap Singh, DM of Shahjahanpur, who has been appointed special secretary for mining, while Rajesh Kumar Tyagi, DM of Amroha, will now serve as special secretary for Panchayati Raj. Ashish Kumar, DM of Hathras, has been made special secretary for stamp and registration. Amit Pal, commissioner of Meerut Nagar Nigam, is now the vice-chairman of the Prayagraj Development Authority.

Additionally, Mannan Akhtar, special secretary for mining, has been transferred to the role of special secretary for medical education, while Rishi Raj, chief development officer (CDO) of Ayodhya, will now be the commissioner of Firozabad Nagar Nigam. Sanjay Kumar Maurya, CDO of Balrampur, will take charge as commissioner of Bareilly Nagar Nigam.

Saurav Gangwar, CDO of Sonbhadra, is now the commissioner of Meerut Nagar Nigam. Krishna Kumar Singh, joint magistrate of Agra, has been posted as the CDO of Ayodhya, while Jagriti Awasthi, joint magistrate of Prayagraj, will assume duties as CDO of Sonbhadra. Himanshu Gupta, joint magistrate of Unnao, is appointed as CDO of Balrampur. /BI
