CISF personnel get booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine

New Delhi: CISF warriors, who have been dealing with Covid-19 menace, particularly at DMRC and Delhi airports as front liners in spite of the highest vulnerability due to exposure and contacts with the passengers, were given the booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine at a special camp organized at Shastri Park Metro Station.

“A team of doctors from East Delhi District along with civil defence volunteers is running two centres for the administration of booster dose to CISF personnel. More than 2500 personnel of CISF Unit DMRC have been administered booster doses of vaccine till date,” said Dr Anil Pandey, Deputy Inspector General and Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), CISF.

“CISF aims to cover all eligible personnel of DMRC under the protection of the booster vaccine by January 20, 2022. The camp was inaugurated on January 9, 2022.

 At the Shastri Park camp, an additional counter for vaccination of eligible wards (children between 15-18 years of age) of personnel has also been opened, which is witnessing good turnout.

Dr Pandey said that more than 12000 personnel are deployed in the DMRC unit of CISF to ensure safety of passengers and property of Delhi Metro that connect Delhi to neighbouring districts of UP and Haryana and provide mass rapid transit to more than 35 lakh passengers in the national capital.

CISF, being a Central Armed Police Force with a pan India presence and the largest public interface, has already vaccinated over 9,000 of its personnel with the booster dose across the country to enhance protection against Covid-19 infection. The booster dose vaccination drive is running across all 353 CISF Units including 64 airports. /BI/
