Ministry of Ayush launches the first batch of Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme

New Delhi: The first batch of the Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme was inaugurated on 18 March 2025 by Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha. The programme, launched and led by the Capacity Building Commission, aims to transform the mindset of Central Government employees towards public service.

The Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Programme reinforces the fundamental purpose of governance—to bring meaningful change to people’s lives. It is designed to instil a strong sense of service, or ‘Seva Bhav’, while fostering a workforce that is more accountable and citizen-centric.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary highlighted that the programme is not just about promoting the idea of service but also about upskilling individuals and broadening their perspectives. He emphasised that the training encourages participants to reflect on the privileges they hold and understand how they can contribute to the well-being of others through their professional duties and personal growth.

Deputy Director General and Head of the Capacity Building Unit, Satyajit Paul, stressed the importance of adopting the right approach to public service. He noted that an efficient and structured work ethic not only enhances service delivery but also reduces stress and fosters a more organised and peaceful workplace. He urged employees to embrace the training and apply its principles in their daily work to ensure services reach citizens effectively.

The training sessions are being led by Director Dr Subodh Kumar and facilitated by Program Coordinator Shipra Singh from the Capacity Building Commission. The sessions saw active participation, with attendees gaining a deeper understanding of their responsibilities within the Ministry and the collective role of all stakeholders.

Discussions also focused on the role of various divisions within the Ministry of Ayush in achieving national development goals. Participants shared insights into Ayush's contributions in promoting traditional medicine systems and improving public health and well-being.

The programme follows an interactive and engaging methodology, moving away from conventional lecture-based training. Instead, it incorporates structured discussions, teamwork, and problem-solving exercises. Conducted over four short sessions, the training allows employees to reflect on their roles, understand their purpose, and engage in meaningful dialogue on enhancing citizen services. A key aspect is self-discovery and motivation, encouraging participants to draw inspiration from leadership stories and real-world examples.

Insights from successful nationwide initiatives and campaigns by the Ministry of Ayush were also shared, providing practical context to support participants in their learning journey.
