Vistara CEO to lead key post-merger integration as Air India reshuffles senior management

New Delhi: Air India Group announced a significant reshuffling of its senior management team ahead of the merger between Air India and Vistara. The changes are part of the preparations for integrating Vistara, a full-service carrier jointly owned by Tata Sons (51%) and Singapore Airlines (49%), into Air India.

Vinod Kannan, the current CEO of Vistara and the appointed Chief Integration Officer for the merger, will continue to lead the integration process following the merger. Kannan will also join Air India's management committee and report directly to Campbell Wilson, the CEO of Air India.

As part of the restructuring, Deepak Rajawat, Vistara’s Chief Commercial Officer, will be appointed as the Chief Financial Officer at Air India Express. He will report to Aloke Singh, CEO of Air India Express, and will work alongside Sanjay Sharma, the Air India Group CFO, on key strategic initiatives. This move will see Vikas Agarwal, the current CFO of Air India Express, transition to a new role within Air India.

In the operations team, Hamish Maxwell, Senior Vice President of Vistara, has been given an advisory role at Air India Express, while Pushpinder Singh, the Chief Operations Officer at Air India Express, will return to flying duties. A successor for Singh will be announced soon.

Additional personnel changes include Deepa Chadha, Senior Vice President of HR & Corporate Affairs at Vistara, and Vinod Bhatt, Chief Information Officer, who will assume senior roles at other Tata Group companies. Niyant Maru, Vistara’s CFO, who had extended his tenure beyond retirement to manage the merger process, will retire at the conclusion of his term.

Despite these changes, all other executive roles and reporting lines within the Air India Group will remain unchanged.
