Panaji: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a leader in revolutionizing urban transport in India, added another feather to its cap on November 26 as its latest film, Pillars of Progress: The Epic Story of Delhi Metro, was screened at the prestigious 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The 30-minute film was showcased under the Indian Panorama's non-feature film category, cementing DMRC’s legacy not just as an engineering marvel but also as a storyteller of its inspiring journey.
 

Directed with a keen eye for detail, Pillars of Progress chronicles the creation of the Delhi Metro, taking viewers back to the late 1980s when the dream of a modern metro system for the capital was still taking shape. The film delves into the engineering, cultural, and logistical hurdles faced by the team, set against the backdrop of Delhi’s diverse urban landscape. Despite the challenges, the metro system emerges as a symbol of resilience, unity, and innovation - a reflection of India’s progress and determination.
 

This isn’t DMRC’s first tryst with cinematic accolades. In the past, it won two National Awards for its films, The Dream Fulfilled: Memories of the Engineering Challenges and Surmounting Challenges: An Incredible Tale of Time. Both these films were also honored at IFFI, being featured in the Indian Panorama in 2012 and 2022, informed Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRC.
