New Delhi: NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NREL) has brought its entire 150 MW solar photovoltaic project in Gujarat into commercial operation. The project, awarded under the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s (GUVNL) 500 MW Solar Phase XII tender, has now been fully energised with the final 60 MW becoming operational from April 16, 2025.

As per a regulatory filing on Friday, the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) issued certification for the final phase on April 30, confirming its commercial status. With this, all three phases of the project are now contributing to the grid. The first 60 MW began operations in July 2024, followed by 30 MW in December the same year.

Developed by NREL, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, the solar park marks another addition to NTPC’s growing non-fossil fuel portfolio. The company continues to scale up its renewable energy capacity in line with national targets aimed at increasing clean energy generation across India.
