DMRC’s Blue Line achieves carbon neutral certification

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's Line-4, connecting Yamuna Bank with Vaishali in Ghaziabad, has been awarded Carbon Neutral certification, marking a key achievement in DMRC's ongoing efforts to promote sustainable urban transport and tackle climate change. This milestone demonstrates DMRC’s dedication to reducing its carbon emissions and contributing to global climate goals.

This achievement follows DMRC’s earlier success in obtaining carbon neutral certification for its corporate headquarters at Metro Bhawan and the staff quarters in Sector-50, Noida.

In line with the Government of India’s target to achieve net zero emissions by 2070, DMRC has taken significant steps toward carbon neutrality by adopting advanced environmental practices.

DMRC has successfully reduced its carbon footprint through various environmentally friendly initiatives, including the use of energy-efficient technologies such as regenerative braking in rolling stock, increasing reliance on renewable power, constructing rainwater harvesting systems, and implementing efficient waste management practices.

Through these efforts, DMRC sets a benchmark for eco-friendly urban transport systems and aims to inspire other networks to adopt similar sustainable practices.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation remains committed to providing future generations with cleaner air and a more sustainable urban environment.
