New Delhi: With a production of 1.31 lakh tonnes of Manganese (Mn) ore in February, Manganese Ore (India) Limited (MOIL) has recorded 10 per cent growth in comparison to that in the same period last year. Sales at 1.32 lakh tonnes of manganese ore during this period was higher by 19 per cent vis-à-vis February last year, said the company in a statement.
Ajit Kumar Saxena, CMD, MOIL, extended his congratulations to the MOIL team on maintaining an upward trend in production and mentioned that the PSU is fully geared up for much higher production levels in coming months.
MOIL Limited is a Schedule-A, Mini-ratna Category-I CPSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. It is the largest producer of manganese ore in the country and contributes around 45 per cent of the domestic production. It operates eleven mines in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
The company has an ambitious vision of more than doubling its production to 3.00 million tonnes by 2030. MOIL is also exploring business opportunities in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, besides other areas in Madhya Pradesh. /BI/
