New Delhi: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has announced an extension for M.S. Kamath as Director (Finance) for an additional period of six months. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, through a communication dated 10th October 2024, confirmed the extension, effective from 2nd October 2024, or until a regular appointee assumes the role, whichever comes first.

M.S. Kamath, who currently serves as Managing Director of MRPL, has a professional career spanning over three decades in the downstream hydrocarbon sector. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from MIT Manipal and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal.

Kamath’s previous role as Executive Director (Refinery) saw him lead critical operations, maintenance, and production planning. He is known for his focus on operational excellence, energy efficiency, and digitalisation. His deep expertise covers a wide range of areas, from project conceptualisation to production planning and process engineering.

Kamath has also played a key role in incorporating advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning into refinery operations, ensuring MRPL remains a leader in adopting innovative solutions for long-term growth and efficiency in the sector.
