Lucknow: Mandeep Singh Chhabra, the 59-year-old Head of Project at National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Unchahar in Uttar Pradesh, has successfully reached the Everest Base Camp recently. Braving unseasonal snowfall, continuous rains, and damaged trekking paths, Chhabra completed the challenging journey to one of the most iconic points on Earth. He proudly hoisted both the Indian flag and the NTPC flag at the base of the world's tallest mountain.
While many would shy away from such a physically demanding challenge at 59, Chhabra's perseverance never faltered, even when faced with the unpredictable conditions of the Himalayas. The trekking route had been heavily damaged due to the snowfall, and communication services were disrupted, adding to the difficulties. However, Chhabra's resolve remained strong, and his determination carried him through the obstacles.
His achievement has not only been a personal milestone but also a source of immense pride for NTPC Unchahar and the wider NTPC family. Colleagues, unions, and representatives across the organisation have praised his dedication, extending their congratulations for accomplishing this incredible journey. Chhabra, in turn, expressed gratitude towards the NTPC community, attributing his success to their support and encouragement throughout the journey.
