V Satish Kumar Takes Additional Charge as Chairman of IndianOil

New Delhi: V Satish Kumar has taken on the additional role of Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), while continuing to serve as Director (Marketing), a position he has held since October 2021. With a career spanning over 35 years, Kumar has played a pivotal role in IndianOil's operations, particularly during challenging times. He also temporarily took on the role of Director (Finance) from October 2022 for a year, a period marked by the Ukraine-Russia conflict and significant geopolitical tensions.

During his tenure as Director (Marketing), Kumar has been instrumental in leading IndianOil's marketing strategies across the nation, ensuring uninterrupted petroleum supply even in the face of natural disasters and other disruptions. Under his leadership, IndianOil has achieved its highest-ever physical performance in the past three years. The company has emerged as a leader in the sale of high-octane fuels, green lubricants, and sustainable energy solutions, including E-mobility initiatives and bio-fuel blends.

Kumar's influence has also extended to the modernization of IndianOil's retail outlets and the expansion of its infrastructure. The company has developed new bottling plants and introduced large retail outlets equipped with wayside amenities along highways. These efforts have contributed to a significant improvement in IndianOil’s brand equity, with the company's brand strength index rising to third place among the top oil and gas companies worldwide in 2023.

A Mechanical Engineer by training, with a postgraduate degree in Management from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Kumar has extensive experience in various regions across India and in engaging with multinational oil companies. As the newly appointed Chairman, he is expected to continue driving IndianOil’s growth and focus on sustainability, building on the strong foundation he has helped establish over the years. /BI/
