Patna: In a first, Bihar on March 2, 2022 started service to deliver Voter I-Cards to the electorate through Speed Post.
Inaugurating the service Bihar’s Chief Secretary Amir Subhani said the service would be beneficial for electorate of all strata of society. “This would be especially beneficial for physically challenged and old-aged voters,” he said.
Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer HR Srinivasa, Chief Postmaster General (Bihar) Adnan Ahmed on this occasion released special cover. An MoU was also signed between the Postal Department and Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar.
Notably, on January 5, 2022, the last day of publication of voters’ list, Bihar had 6,46,299 male; 5,89,335 female and 147 third gender voters.
After the final publication of voters’ list, the application for adding of names of voters can be filed at block and subdivision offices. Online applications can also be made at www.nvsp.in and www.ceobihar.nic.in ; details can also be sought from helpline number 1950.
