New Delhi: A leading five-star hotel in the Delhi NCR region has commissioned a 50 kWp solar power plant, strengthening its renewable energy capacity and advancing its sustainability roadmap.
The solar installation is expected to generate approximately 73,000 kWh of green energy annually and nearly 18.25 lakh kWh over its operational life. The initiative enhances energy resilience, supports responsible operations, and contributes to a measurable reduction in the hotel’s environmental footprint.
Commenting on the development, the hotel management said sustainability remains central to its operating philosophy and guest experience. The commissioning of the solar power plant marks a step towards reducing carbon emissions while improving long-term energy efficiency, with a continued focus on measurable and future-ready initiatives.
The solar project forms part of a broader sustainability framework implemented across the property. The hotel operates sewage and effluent treatment plants with a combined water treatment capacity of 350 KLD, with treated water reused for cooling towers and irrigation. An in-house water bottling facility produces up to 1,000 bottles of 500 ml each, reducing dependence on externally sourced packaged drinking water.
To support groundwater recharge, the property has developed four rainwater harvesting recharge pits. It has also installed three electric vehicle charging points to encourage cleaner mobility. Organic waste generated on-site is processed through an in-house composter with a capacity of 250 kg, converting food waste into manure for horticulture. In line with responsible refrigerant practices, the hotel does not use R22 in any refrigeration system.
These initiatives underline the hotel’s approach to embedding sustainability into daily operations, with a strong emphasis on efficiency, accountability, and long-term environmental impact.
