New Delhi: Anil Kumar Gupta has assumed the role of Member (Planning) on the Board of Airports Authority of India (AAI) as of October 9. Prior to this appointment, Gupta held key positions as Executive Director for Land Management & Business Development and the Regional Connectivity Scheme. In addition, he has been nominated as a Director on the Board of the Multi-Modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN).
With over 35 years of experience in civil aviation, Gupta has been involved in numerous infrastructure projects at various airports, including the modernisation of Kolkata and Jaipur airports. His work at Jaipur resulted in one of the first steel-and-glass airport buildings in India. As Executive Director of Land Management, Gupta played a crucial role in overseeing the management of AAI’s land assets, implementing a Lease Administration System for over 1,000 leases nationwide. He also contributed to resolving land disputes and standardising lease agreements, alongside playing a key role in the development of policies for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities and Flying Training Organisations (FTOs).
In his new position as Member (Planning), Gupta will be responsible for shaping strategies and overseeing the development of both Greenfield and Brownfield airport projects, ensuring the continued growth and modernisation of India's airport infrastructure.
