Changlang is fast undergoing holistic transformation: Deputy Commissioner IAS Devansh Yadav

New Delhi| Changlang is changing! With the advent of social media, enabling measures from the governments and people’s urge for an improved ease of life are doing wonders. “In my district Changlang, things are undergoing a sea-change. People are adopting technologies and newer modes of education and communication. Things are firming quite well. We are happy to contribute quite significantly to the economic resilience of Arunachal Pradesh, which is progressing quite fast,” said Dr Devansh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Changlang, in an exclusive interview with www.bureaucratsindia.in.

Sharing his experience as DC and the district’s educational development, Dr Yadav said: “Things are picking up. We are making every possible effort to ensure that deserving students do move to better institutions for higher studies. Through cloud funding, we are helping them as well. The state government is very keen to help them. It is a great positive sign.”

Talking about his School Preparation Month initiative, Dr Yadav said: “In August, we started this initiative where with the help of community and local volunteers, we help primary school students to relearn what they had forgotten during lockdown. Nearly 700 volunteers help 4000 students grasp basic concepts which shall help them when they return to school.”

Reflecting on the challenges that come along the hilly terrain of Arunachal Pradesh in taking the benefits of good governance to people’s door steps, he said that they have started the initiative of Aapka Sarkar, Aapke Dwar under which most of the government services are being provided to the people at their doorsteps. “They do not need to go anywhere for any kind of certificates, permissions or no objection certificates,” he said.

In order to deal with the drug menace in Changlang, Dr Devansh Yadav has been spearheading ‘Nasha Mukti’ campaign in the area for quite some time. Through proper planning and strategic interventions, eight villages have been declared drug free so far. “We are targeting one village at a time. After we have taken care of drug addiction, we provide locals with livelihood opportunities to keep them engaged,” informed Dr Yadav.

Changlang is naturally gifted and significant strides have been made to develop tourism in the area. During Bureaucrats India dialogue, he also gave insights into the salient features of Namdapha National Park. He said that Changlang has a huge potential to be a tourism hotspot and we are trying to create awareness about all the beautiful places in the district.
