Chandigarh: In a significant administrative reshuffle ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the Haryana government announced the transfer of 23 IPS and 27 Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers on Wednesday. The reassignments include several district police chiefs.
Satender Kumar Gupta, previously the Inspector General of Police, Karnal Range, has been appointed as the Sonipat Police Commissioner, replacing B Satheesh Balan. Balan will now serve as the Commissioner of Police, Jhajjar.
Jashandeep Singh Randhawa, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Ambala, and Kurukshetra SP Surinder Singh Bhoria will swap positions. Hisar SP Mohit Handa will become the new SP of Karnal, while Deepak Saharan will take over as the new SP of Hisar.
Vijay Pratap, previously the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Crime, Gurugram, has been assigned as SP, Nuh. Narendra Bijarniya, the former SP of Nuh, will now be SP, Special Task Force and DCP, Crime, Gurugram.
Gaurav, previously the DCP (East), Sonipat, has been appointed as Rewari SP, replacing Shashank Kumar Sawan, who will now be DCP (Headquarters), Jhajjar.
This is the first major reshuffle in the police department under the administration of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Among the HPS officers transferred, Mukesh Kumar, DCP, Crime and Traffic, Panchkula, has been reassigned. Abhilaksh Joshi, formerly Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Jagadhri in Yamunanagar, will now serve as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Gurugram. Meena Kumari, DSP (Anti-Corruption Bureau-Headquarters), has been posted as DSP, Karnal.
These transfers are effective immediately. /BI
