Jaipur. In run up to upcoming assembly elections, the Rajasthan government has effected a significant reshuffle within the state police department. The transfer orders, issued on Friday, affect a total of 30 police officers, including high-ranking officials such as Directors General (DGs), Additional DGs (ADGs), Inspector Generals of Police (IGPs), Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs), and Superintendents of Police (SPs).
One of the key transfers has taken place in the Bharatpur range, which is seen as a response to concerns over the delayed progress in the Nasir and Junaid murder case. A new DIG and SP have been appointed to oversee the region. Rajiv Sharma, a DG rank officer and former director of RPA, has been entrusted with the crucial responsibilities of DG for law and order, Rajasthan Armed Constabulary, and State Disaster Relief Force.
Junga Srinivas Rao will now serve as DG for community policing, human rights, and training, while Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda has been assigned to the state crime records bureau, cybercrime, and technical services.
Rupinder Singh, who previously held the position of IG for the Rajasthan Armed Constabulary, has been replaced by Lata Manoj Kumar. Gaurav Srivastav, the former IG of Bharatpur, will now take charge of Crime-II in Jaipur.
