ATDC and SECL sign MoU to provide vocational training to 400 youth in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: The Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), Gurugram, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) to provide vocational training to 400 unemployed youth from Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. The agreement, part of SECL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, aims to equip participants with skills essential for self-employment.
 

The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of additional secretary, Ministry of Coal, Rupinder Brar, and deputy director general, Ministry of Coal, Santosh. The project has been allocated a budget of ₹3.12 crore.
 

Under this initiative, ATDC will set up training centres for 300 candidates in non-residential self-employed tailor programmes across SECL’s operational areas, including Bishrampur, Sohagpur, and Korba. Additionally, 100 candidates will undergo training in a fully residential programme at the ATDC training centre in Chhindwada, Madhya Pradesh, with free boarding and lodging facilities. The beneficiaries will be selected from communities within a 25-kilometre radius of SECL’s establishments.
 

Rupinder Brar congratulated the SECL CSR team for its efforts, stating, "I appreciate SECL’s commitment to empowering youth through skill development. Such initiatives play a crucial role in improving livelihoods and strengthening local communities."
 

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Biranchi Das, director (personnel), SECL; Rakesh Vaid, senior vice chairman, ATDC; Vijay Mathur, director general and CEO, ATDC; and Alok Kumar, general manager (civil/CSR), SECL.
