Mumbai: India’s Maharatna public sector entity – Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) – has swept the prestigious PSU Awards for its stellar contribution to India’s fight against Covid-19.
HPCL received three prestigious awards given by Governance Now during a virtual function held here. Dr Kiran Bedi, former Lt Governor of Puducherry presented HPCL’s ‘Investment in Startups Award’ to Rajnish Mehta, Executive Director - Corporate Strategy and Planning and Business Development; Digital Transformation Leader (CIO) Award to Rajiv Chandra, Executive Director, Information Systems, while Rajeev Goel, Chief General Manager – Public Relations and Corporate Communication (PRCC), was conferred with the Communication Leader Award.
These prestigious awards given by Governance Now recognize and felicitate outstanding efforts of the PSUs, which have been a key to the country’s meteoric growth since Independence. This year’s awards focused on the work carried out by various PSUs during the pandemic in India’s fight against Covid-19.
It is worth mentioning that HPCL’s startup initiative called Udgam enables innovators and entrepreneurs to pursue a promising idea, establish and validate proof of concept (POC) and support commercialization. HPCL is currently working with many startups and have helped innovators and entrepreneurs commercially implement their workable ideas, thus fueling innovation in the nation, especially during the pandemic.
With work from home and carrying out operations remotely becoming the new normal during the pandemic, HPCL’s IS team provided quintessential support to the Corporation to quickly adapt to the changing scenario. This enabled the Corporation to serve the nation uninterrupted even during the lockdown.
HPCL’s PRCC Department has shown exemplary efforts during the pandemic by carrying out effective internal and external communication to not only spread the message of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour to the general public but also kept the Corporation informed, engaged and invigorated towards the country’s fight against the pandemic.
PRCC spearheaded HPCL’s ‘Unite2FightCorona’ campaign, which saw taking the message of Covid-19 appropriate behavior to over seven crore citizens through various ATL and TTL mediums, reemphasizing HPCL as a socially responsible corporate. /BI/
