UPSC civil services result 2025 declared, Anuj Agnihotri secures top rank

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission has announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025, bringing an end to months of anticipation among aspirants across the country. Candidates who appeared for the Personality Test round can now check the final merit list on the official website, https://upsc.gov.in/index.php

Anuj Agnihotri has secured the first rank in the examination, while Rajeshwari Suve has achieved the second rank, according to the merit list released by the commission.

The final result has been prepared based on candidates’ performance in the written examination and the Personality Test (Interview). The result PDF includes the names and roll numbers of candidates recommended for appointment to various civil services across the country.

A total of 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment through the Civil Services Examination 2025 against 1,087 reported vacancies across different services. The commission has also placed 258 candidates in a reserve list, while 348 candidates have been recommended provisionally. Additionally, the results of two candidates have been withheld, according to the official release.

Candidates can check the final result on the official UPSC website. The commission has released the merit list in PDF format containing the names of candidates selected for different services.

The Civil Services Examination is considered one of the toughest competitive exams in the world. Every year, lakhs of aspirants appear for the exam, but only a small fraction reach the final list after clearing three stages, the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality Test.

For the Civil Services Examination 2025, UPSC aims to fill 979 vacancies across various administrative services of the central government.

According to the UPSC notification, candidates must be at least 21 years old and not more than 32 years old as of August 1, 2024. This means applicants should have been born between August 2, 1992 and August 1, 2003.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination remains one of the most sought-after career pathways in India, offering opportunities to serve in key administrative roles across the country. Candidates who have made it to the final merit list will now be appointed to various central services based on their rank and service preference.
