New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has notified the Household Schedule for the Census of India 2027, outlining 40 parameters that will be covered during the upcoming population exercise.
The schedule will capture key demographic and socio-economic details, including education, employment, migration, disability and digital literacy.
It will also collect information on access to and possession of key identity and financial documents and services, including Aadhaar, Voter ID, passport, driving licence, bank accounts and mobile numbers.
The expanded set of parameters is aimed at providing a more comprehensive picture of India’s households and population, which can support government planning, policy formulation and delivery of public services.
Census 2027 is expected to provide an updated and detailed demographic, social and economic profile of the country.
