MoU exchanged between AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations) at RINL, and B. Anil Kumar, Executive Director and State Head at IOCL

Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, has formalised a significant partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the supply of hydraulic and lubricating oils and greases. This agreement, set to span five years from 2024 to 2029, was signed during a programme held at the Main Conference Hall of RINL’s Administrative Building.

The MoU was exchanged between AK Bagchi, Director (Projects) and additional charge Director (Operations) at RINL, and B. Anil Kumar, Executive Director and State Head (TPSO-Telangana, Andhra Pradesh State Office) at IOCL. The event was attended by senior representatives from both organisations, including R. Uday Kumar, Executive Director (Lubes) at IOCL, and U. Sridhar, CGM (Works) In-charge at RINL.

AK Bagchi highlighted the MoU as a prime example of collaborative efforts contributing to national development. He expressed gratitude to IOCL for their commitment to developing specialised grades of lubricants that meet the stringent operational demands of RINL.

R. Uday Kumar of IOCL described the MoU signing as a milestone, emphasising the strong professional relationship that has been cultivated between RINL and IOCL over the past three decades.

The partnership, which traces its origins back to an initial MoU signed in 1994-95, aims to ensure a steady supply of lubricants crucial to the operations of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Beyond supply, IOCL will extend technical support in areas such as lubrication, condition monitoring of critical hydraulic and lube systems, bulk oil handling, and used oil management.

Additionally, IOCL will provide training for RINL officials at their R&D Centre in Faridabad. This initiative is expected to enhance RINL’s efficiency in lubricant consumption and maintain optimal levels of usage. /BI
