New Delhi: SJVN Limited organised the Himachal Pradesh State-Level Painting Competition on energy conservation at its Corporate Headquarters in Shimla, bringing together school students from across the state to promote awareness on sustainable energy practices through art. The event was attended by Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, who viewed the prize-winning entries at an exhibition gallery and commended students for creatively portraying themes linked to responsible energy use. He also acknowledged the role of students, teachers, parents and SJVN in strengthening public understanding of sustainability.

SJVN’s Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma spoke about the company’s continued collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, the Ministry of Power, the Himachal Pradesh Government, the State Education Department and other agencies in conducting painting competitions at the school and state levels. SJVN has served as the nodal agency for Himachal Pradesh since 2005 and has been actively contributing to the National Campaign on Energy Conservation.

Prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 were presented for the first, second and third positions in both Group A (Classes 5 to 7) and Group B (Classes 8 to 10). Ten consolation awards of Rs 7,500 each were also given in both groups. All participating students received mementoes, LED bulbs and a participation amount of Rs 2,000 to encourage the adoption of energy-efficient habits.

This year’s school-level competition, which formed the first phase of the campaign, recorded participation from 2,23,917 students representing 4,825 schools across all 12 districts of the state. From these entries, 55 shortlisted paintings from each category were chosen for the state-level round by an expert jury.

The winners of the State-Level Painting Competition will now move on to represent Himachal Pradesh at the National Level Painting Competition in New Delhi on December 11, 2025. The national awards will be conferred on December 14, 2025, as part of the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations.
