New Delhi: Godrej Agrovet Limited has announced the launch of Disha, a women’s career accelerator programme, at the third edition of its Women in Agriculture Summit. The initiative reflects the company’s continued commitment to building an inclusive and future-ready agricultural workforce.

Disha is a Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, initiative designed to enhance employability among women pursuing BSc Agriculture and allied disciplines.

Conceptualised as a campus-to-corporate finishing school, the programme focuses on equipping participants with industry-relevant skills such as sales, communication, professional readiness, and confidence-building, ensuring a smoother transition from academia to formal careers in the agri-sector.

The programme is being implemented in partnership with 1M1B Foundation and Ikka Learning Foundation, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in driving meaningful impact.

Speaking on the initiative, Sunil Kataria, Managing Director and CEO of Godrej Agrovet, emphasized that India’s agriculture and allied sectors are at a pivotal stage, with strong ambitions around sustainable growth, productivity, and rural prosperity.

He noted that nurturing industry-ready talent will be key to unlocking this potential, and that Disha aims to strengthen the pipeline of skilled women professionals prepared to contribute meaningfully to the sector.

Pakzan Dastoor, Head, Sustainability and CSR at Godrej Industries Group, highlighted that inclusion remains central to the group’s growth philosophy.

She added that Disha is enabling women to transition into the formal agri-industry and access meaningful employment opportunities, with early outcomes already showing over 33% of participants placed across agri roles.

Mallika Mutreja, CHRO at Godrej Agrovet, further noted that building a resilient and inclusive workforce requires sustained investment across the talent lifecycle, from early career entry to leadership development.

She stated that initiatives like Disha complement the company’s broader hiring and development programmes aimed at creating long-term career pathways for women.

The summit also featured a panel discussion emphasising the need for industry-wide collaboration to strengthen the women talent pipeline in agriculture. Experts highlighted the importance of aligned efforts across education, skilling, hiring, and career progression to unlock greater participation of women in the formal agri-economy.
