As an IAS officer, Prince Dhawan has left his mark wherever he has worked and the going remains great for him till now. Born to a revenue officer, Dhawan, currently District Magistrate of Lohit, Arunachal Pradesh, has made noteworthy developments in the North-East. B Tech and M Tech in engineering from IIT-Delhi, this dynamic IAS officer of 2012 AGMUT cadre, Dhawan made headlines as an SDM and Land Acquisition Officer of Chandigarh. He worked hard to bring in transparency in the system only to succeed. As Special Secretary, IT Department in Arunachal Pradesh, he received the Best Performing Department Award.

Seeing his expertise in administrative works, he was given the responsibility of DC of Itanagar where he worked relentlessly to make Itanagar a smart city. He laid special emphasis on cleanliness, public sanitation, security, digital payment system, and economic development in the district. With his novel initiative of doing away with paper in the office, a vital step towards promoting sustainability, he became the first bureaucrat in the entire North-East to receive the National e-Governance Award. Dhawan has also received the prestigious Skoch Order of Merit.

The officer played an important role in promoting bamboo cultivation for the economic strength of the people of the district. Being the deputy commissioner of the state capital, he took many important decisions to improve the law and order. For his outstanding contributions, he was also awarded the Gold Medal by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

In March 2019, Dhawan became the Deputy Commissioner of Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. Even there he prioritized reforming law and order and stressed on increasing transparent work culture and surveillance in the district. The organic tea cultivation reached its potential owing to his exemplary guidance. He is really trying his level best to make Lohit Arunachal Pradesh’s Best District. During Covid-19 pandemic, along with vigilantly protecting the district from infections, his brilliant interventions in promoting horticulture, provided financial support during the recession.

With his excellent governance, foresight, visionary thinking and sense of accountability in working style, Prince Dhawan has established his distinct identity in the North East as a benevolent leader, a people’s bureaucrat. He certainly deserves finest of wishes and kudos for his brilliant and inspiring journey so far.
