Significant achievements during various drives conducted by RPF

New Delhi: Continuing its drive for the protection of Railway property and passengers, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in January accomplished commendable achievements under various operations conducted during the month.

Under Operation ‘Nanhe Faristey’, RPF reunited more than 549 lost children with their families. Under Operation ‘Jeevan Raksha’, the RPF's swift action saved the lives of 233 passengers during their boarding or de-boarding on moving trains.

The ‘Meri Saheli’ initiative, aimed at empowering women passengers, witnessed 229 teams attending 13,615 trains, providing security assurance to 4.1 lakh  women passengers. Legal action was taken against 7,402 individuals found inappropriately travelling in coaches reserved for women.

To tighten the noose around touts, Operation ‘Uplabdh’ led to the arrest of 379 individuals, with legal action taken against them and the seizure of reserved railway tickets valued at Rs 44.46 lakh. Operation ‘NARCOS’ saw the arrest of 76 individuals and the seizure of narcotics valued at Rs 4.13 crore.

Responding to passengers' concerns, RPF addressed over 19,738 complaints received through the Rail Madad Portal and Helpline (No. 139) integrated with the Emergency Response Support System (No. 112). Operation ‘Yatri Suraksha’ resulted in the arrest of 225 criminals involved in offenses against passengers.

To ensure passengers' safety, Operation ‘Sanraksha’ led to the arrest of 53 individuals involved in stone-pelting on running trains. Operation ‘Seva’ demonstrated a humanitarian approach, providing assistance to 227 elderly, sick, or injured passengers.

Under ‘Operation Satark’, RPF seized illegal tobacco products and liquor worth Rs 30.15 lakh, apprehending 86 individuals. Additionally, unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 1.53 crore, gold worth Rs 37.18 lakh, and silver worth Rs 11.67 lakh were recovered.
