Lucknow:  During a public hearing in Mau, Class 1 student Samra Naz came forward to tell District Magistrate Anand Vardhan about a problem she was facing. She explained the difficulty caused by the poor condition of the road, putting forward her complaint with the confidence of someone who simply wanted her problem heard.

The DM listened to her patiently and assured her that the matter would be resolved. But the assurance was quickly followed by action

Taking immediate cognisance of Samra’s complaint, the DM directed the Nagar Palika Parishad to conduct a measurement of the land. The measurement was carried out, an estimate was prepared and work on construction of the road was started immediately.

Before she left, the DM offered Samra a chocolate and gave her an even more important message~ to study hard, work with dedication and achieve her dreams.
