Human Rights Day celebrated with community-focused initiatives in New Delhi

New Delhi: The Organization of Human Rights Activists (OHRA) marked Human Rights Day on December 10,  2024, with a laudable initiative in R K Puram Sector-1, New Delhi, highlighting their commitment to serving the community. The event encompassed a range of services aimed at uplifting the local residents, including free legal counselling, health check-ups, and Human Rights Education. The bustling venue witnessed an array of attendees availing themselves of the invaluable services provided.
 

The free legal counselling session proved to be a boon for many, addressing various legal queries and concerns of the community members. Expert legal professionals generously volunteered their time and expertise to guide and assist those in need. Simultaneously, a free health check-up camp was organised, ensuring the well-being of the attendees. Qualified medical practitioners conducted comprehensive health examinations, offering advice and necessary medical insights to the participants, promoting a culture of wellness within the locality.



 

The highlight of the event was the presence of Dr Prem Kumar, ex-Additional Medical Superintendent in Safdarjung Hospital, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. His wealth of experience and dedication to public service added prestige to the event, inspiring the attendees and volunteers alike.
 

OHRA’s commitment to advocating human rights and fostering community welfare was evident throughout the event. Their noble efforts exemplify the spirit of compassion and solidarity, leaving a positive impact on the lives of those they served.


 

The program was attended by Senior Advocate Medhanshu Tripathi, Ravinder Kumar, Director of M/s Sai Communication, Dr Madan Yadav, Professor of Political Science, IGNOU, and other esteemed members of the society. Meenakshi Singh, Secretary of OHRA, said that the organisation has been organising this type of program for many years, and to continue the same, further support from members and other members of society is needed.
