Bhubaneshwar: Odisha cadre IPS officer Shefeen Ahamed K, a 2003-batch officer and Inspector General of Police, CID, Crime Branch & Cyber Crime, passed away on August 31 while undergoing treatment for cancer. He was 50.
A Kerala native and engineering graduate, Ahamed served in several key policing assignments in Odisha and also spent time on inter-cadre deputation in Kerala, including as SP, Thiruvananthapuram Rural.
Known for his work in cybercrime and crime investigation, he was also recognised with police medals for his service.
His untimely demise has drawn condolences from across the police and administrative fraternity, with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi remembering his dedicated service to the state and Odisha Police.
