New Delhi: Samsung has announced a six-fold expansion of its flagship CSR programme, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), to equip 20,000 students across 10 Indian states with skills in Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming during 2025. The initiative, which trained 3,500 students last year, will also provide soft skills training and placement support to eligible candidates.
“Samsung is proud to be a long-standing partner in India’s growth journey. Samsung Innovation Campus, which is aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India and Digital India initiatives, reflects our shared vision of harnessing technology to unlock opportunities for the youth. Through Samsung Innovation Campus, we are equipping India’s youth with future-ready skills, helping them prepare for the digital economy and drive the country’s progress. We remain committed to expanding access to skilling and employment opportunities, especially for students from underserved communities, and to support the Government’s vision of a digitally-empowered India,” said JB Park, President and CEO, Samsung Southwest Asia.
The programme will expand to Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal through a partnership with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), which will train 10,000 students. Another 10,000 will be trained in Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Maharashtra under an MoU with the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC). Both ESSCI and TSSC are National Skill Development Corporation-approved entities and will implement the initiative through accredited training centres.
This year’s rollout places special emphasis on Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, with 5,000 students from each state set to undergo training. Samsung said the programme aims to democratise access to digital skills by covering both urban and semi-urban areas, with a strong focus on underserved communities.
Since its launch in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus has trained 6,500 students. It forms part of Samsung’s broader CSR strategy, which also includes Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, a programme encouraging youth innovation for social good.
