Chandigarh: Punjab is all set to get a huge boost in the electronics sector with Dixon Technologies investing Rs 300 crore in the state. Industries and Commerce Minister Gurkirat Singh Kotli and Executive Chairman of Dixon Technologies Sunil Vachani had wide ranging discussions here recently.
The meeting was followed by a detailed presentation by Dixon outlining the segment in which they serve and brands associated with the group. The presentation and discussion also covered Dixon’s growth plans in Punjab.
Vachani said Dixon shall be setting up an electronic manufacturing plant through a Joint Venture (JV) with Bharti Group in Ludhiana with an investment of approximately Rs 300 crore including land and building. They have received the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) approval under the Government of India’s PLI Scheme for the telecom sector.
Sharing more details, Vachani said Dixon Technologies and Beetel Teletech Limited have also entered into a Joint Venture Agreement. The JV company -- Dixon Electro Appliances Private Limited – has acquired a manufacturing facility in the city of Ludhiana. Principal Secretary, Investment Promotion, Tejveer Singh, assured Vachani of all possible support from Invest Punjab for setting up the new project.
