New Delhi: Every year, the world disposes of a billion tonnes. Mona B has come up with a range of bags that are made from recycled plastic bottles.
India produces 3.5 million tonnes of plastic waste annually, out of which 60 per cent is not recycled and 40 per cent waste is dumped in landfills, clogging water bodies and polluting streets. This is an alarming situation and a primary cause of environmental and human-kind damage, tells Rahul, Director at Mona B.
After months of research and trials, we finally came up with a process of collecting plastic bottles from across India, processing them into finer granules to be further processed to recycled fiber and finally into recycled fabric called recycled polyester (rPet). These fabrics from hereon are stitched into premium, spacious, multi-utility bags with smart details, added Ammrites Chaand Dhupar, Director at Mona B.
The production of rPet requires 59 per cent fewer energy resources in comparison to production of new fibers, further generating fewer Co2 emissions. Our rPet bags are durable, lightweight, quick drying, stain resistant, eco-friendly and economical. They are perfect for work, college, leisure and travel, he said.
