New Delhi: Food-tech company Zomato has officially changed its corporate name to Eternal Ltd, as confirmed in an exchange filing on Thursday. The rebranding reflects the company’s expansion beyond food delivery while retaining the Zomato brand for its food-related services.
Deepinder Goyal, Group CEO and Co-founder, explained that ‘Eternal’ was initially used internally after the acquisition of Blinkit to differentiate between the company and its brands. He stated, “We also thought we would publicly rename the company to Eternal the day something beyond Zomato became a significant driver of our future. Today, with Blinkit, I feel we are there.”
While the Zomato app will continue to operate under its existing name, the company’s stock ticker will change from ‘Zomato’ to ‘Eternal’. The company now comprises four key businesses: Zomato for food delivery and restaurant discovery, Blinkit as a quick-commerce platform, Hyperpure for B2B restaurant supplies, and District as a logistics business.
Speculation about a possible name change first surfaced in 2022, but Goyal had dismissed it at the time, calling ‘Eternal’ an internal identity. With Blinkit now emerging as a major growth driver, the company has formally adopted the new corporate name.
