Mumbai: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Fortune Global 500 company, has partnered with India’s first pan-disability cricket team ahead of their landmark tour to England. This collaboration reflects BPCL’s continued commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity in Indian sports.
The dynamic team, led by Mumbai’s Ravindra Sante, comprises players with physical, hearing and intellectual disabilities and will represent India in their international debut at the Vitality IT20 Mixed Disability Series against England. Over the course of June and July 2025, the team will play seven T20 International matches at various iconic venues across England. The tour is seen as a significant step forward in recognising and celebrating inclusive sports on a global stage.
In a ceremony held earlier this week in New Delhi, Deepak Jain, Chief General Manager – Sports (HRS), BPCL, unveiled the team’s official jersey featuring the BPCL logo. The jersey stands as a symbol of BPCL’s dedication to equal opportunity and support for athletes from all backgrounds.
As one of India’s leading energy companies, BPCL operates three major refineries in Mumbai, Kochi and Bina with a combined refining capacity of 35.3 MMTPA. Its robust infrastructure includes over 23,500 fuel stations, more than 6,200 LPG distributorships, and over 6,500 electric vehicle charging stations. With the goal of becoming a Net Zero Energy Company by 2040 (Scope 1 and 2 emissions), BPCL is also engaged in several community initiatives in areas such as education, water conservation, health, skill development and capacity building.
BPCL has extended its best wishes to the team as they embark on this historic journey, reinforcing that the spirit of cricket transcends all barriers and celebrates unity through diversity.
