New Delhi: The Kochi refinery of BPCL has received the highly esteemed Gold Medal at the National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC) in the current year. In addition, the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) has acknowledged the refinery's steadfast dedication to energy conservation and its endeavors to attain a net-zero future at the opening ceremony of SAKSHAM 2023.
The International Research Institute of Manufacturing (IRIM) has acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the Kochi Refinery, including its commitment to safety, effective leadership, and other notable parameters. The National Awards for Manufacturing Competitiveness (NAMC) is a reputable forum that evaluates the leading manufacturing units in India and honors excellence in unconventional approaches and custom-made strategies adopted by organizations.
Ajith Kumar K, Executive Director of Kochi Refinery, accepted the Gold Medal on behalf of BPCL at NAMC. Kumar stated that the award is a testament to BPCL's unwavering commitment to excellence and serves as an inspiration for the company to continue striving for greater achievements in the manufacturing industry.
During the SAKSHAM 2023 event, the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) acknowledged BPCL's dedication to energy conservation and striving towards a Net-Zero future. Sanjay Khanna, Director (Refineries) of BPCL, received the citation from Rameswar Teli, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the negative health and environmental effects of rising carbon footprints and encourage consumers to adopt cleaner fuels.
Furthermore, at the event, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Labour & Employment, Rameswar Teli, examined BPCL's Bharat Hi-Star Stove, which boasts a superior thermal efficiency of 74 percent compared to the standard LPG stove commonly found in the market. Additionally, Santosh Nivendkar, the State Level Coordinator of Maharashtra, was honored for executing the highest number of activities during the SAKSHAM campaign last year.
SAKSHAM is an important yearly event, jointly organized by the oil industry and PCRA under the guidance of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India. Its primary objective is to raise awareness among people about the significance of oil and gas conservation and various ways to achieve it.
