Goa: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) proudly showcased its commitment to innovation and sustainability at India Energy Week 2024, marking a significant milestone during its Golden Jubilee Celebrations under the theme "Panchatattvon Ka Maharatna."
At the event, HPCL unveiled an ambitious roadmap aiming to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2040. This roadmap, developed in collaboration with industry experts, outlines a holistic strategy to address emissions across its operations, including enhancing energy efficiencies, integrating renewable power sources, and adopting cutting-edge green hydrogen technology.
Pushp Kumar Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director of HPCL, highlighted the company's dedication to the Net Zero Target across the five elemental pillars of Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Ether during his address at IEW-2024 in Goa.
The HPCL pavilion attracted over 15,000 visitors, captivating them with its transformative initiatives. From pioneering biofuels to spearheading electric vehicle infrastructure, HPCL emerged as a leader in alternative energy solutions, earning praise from industry leaders and oil and gas experts.
The presence of Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri, and the inauguration of innovative H-CNG technology by Hon’ble Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Labour & Employment, Rameshwar Teli, underscored the significance of HPCL's efforts towards achieving Net Zero emissions.
Key highlights at the HPCL Pavilion included the groundbreaking Green Promise Portal, inviting visitors to pledge their commitment to Net Zero actions, and the Eco-Sphere Nexus, symbolizing HPCL's journey towards sustainability through a synchronized dance performance.
In addition, the inauguration of HPCL’s pioneering ‘HP Panchatattva Energy Station’ near the venue by Hardeep Singh Puri, in the presence of Secretary MoP&NG, Pankaj Jain, marked a significant milestone. This flagship retail outlet in Goa offers a range of fuel options, including E20, Power 95, CNG, and electric vehicle charging facilities, alongside conveniences like a quick-service restaurant and an ATM.
Throughout India Energy Week 2024, hundreds of HPCL delegates actively participated in various strategic and technical sessions, further cementing HPCL's position as a driving force towards a sustainable energy future in India. /BI/
