New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) will be operating Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra from April under Dekho Apna Desh initiative. Under this, it will cover some of the prominent places associated with Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and the Buddhist Heritage vis-à-vis Mhow, Nagpur, Sanchi, Varanasi, Sarnath, Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Nalanda. The trip will commence from New Delhi and will be deboarded at Delhi, Mathura and Agra.
The departure date is April 14, 2023. The journey will be of seven nights and eight days and will provide tourists a holistic experience. It is evident to note that under the Dekho Apna Desh initiative, the Ministry of Railways along with IRCTC is running Bharat Gaurav Tourist train on various theme-based circuits across India.
The first halt is Dr Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) in Madhya Pradesh which is the birthplace of Baba Saheb. The train further moves to Nagpur where tourists will visit Deekshabhoomi, a monument of Navayana Buddhism. Sanchi includes visits to the eponymous stupa along with other Buddhist sites. The next destination is a trip to Sarnath and Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. The last place in the list is Gaya where the tourists will go to Bodhgaya to see Mahabodhi temple and other monasteries. Rajgir and Nalanda will be covered by road.
Bharat Gaurav trains are launched with a vision to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical and scenic places to citizens. It offers a comprehensive package with facility of rail transportation, accommodation, fooding and sightseeing. /BI/
