MRPL strengthens Karnataka’s energy infrastructure with new marketing terminal in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), a subsidiary of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC), has made a significant stride in enhancing Karnataka's energy infrastructure by commissioning a state-of-the-art marketing terminal in Bengaluru. This newly established facility is set to bolster the availability and distribution of petroleum products, including petrol, diesel, and aviation turbine fuel (ATF), across Karnataka and neighbouring states, addressing the region's rising energy demands.

The terminal, strategically situated in Devangonthi in eastern Bengaluru, is equipped with advanced technology and meets the highest safety and environmental standards. It is expected to play a pivotal role in MRPL's ambitious goal of selling 1 million metric tonnes of fuel through its retail network, branded as "MRPL HiQ Auto Fuels." Additionally, the facility's proximity to major airports, including Bengaluru, will facilitate the cost-effective distribution of ATF.

Mundkur Shyamprasad Kamath, Managing Director of MRPL, highlighted the terminal's significance, stating, "This new terminal in Bengaluru is a crucial investment in our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality fuel to our expanding customer base. It reflects our dedication to energy security and supports the region’s economic growth. We aim to leverage this facility to maximise revenue and value for the organisation by expanding our retail and aviation businesses in this rapidly developing area." /BI
