New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Singrauli-based Miniratna under the Ministry of Coal, is running an extensive yoga awareness campaign from 15 to 20 June 2025, aiming to reach nearly 25,000 people in the run-up to International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21 June.

This year’s Yoga Day carries the theme One Earth, One Health, underlining the connection between human well-being and the planet’s health. NCL’s initiatives are designed to highlight yoga’s physical, mental and spiritual benefits, while encouraging people to adopt it as a sustainable part of their daily routine. The campaign aligns with the global yoga movement envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to foster well-being, peace and harmony through the timeless practice.

The campaign includes yoga awareness rallies to spread information across the local community, covering employees, contractual workers, students and other stakeholders. Essay writing and poster making competitions are being organised to engage local children and youth, encouraging them to reflect creatively on yoga’s role in everyday life. Public yoga sessions following the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) will be conducted for all age groups, including children and senior citizens, and workshops in schools and colleges aim to build healthy habits from an early age.

On the International Day of Yoga itself, over 10,000 people will join coordinated yoga sessions across all NCL areas and units. Through this large-scale effort, the company plans to strengthen awareness about yoga’s contribution to physical fitness, mental peace, community bonding and nature conservation. By integrating yoga into its workplace culture and community outreach, NCL hopes to support lasting health initiatives for employees, their families and surrounding communities, reinforcing the vision of One Earth, One Health.
