New Delhi: National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a leading Navratna public sector fertilizer company, continues to strengthen its operational and sustainability roadmap. The company recorded a 9% growth in fertilizer sales in Q1 FY26, backed by favorable monsoon forecasts and rising demand from the agriculture sector. With plans underway to expand its neem-coated urea production capacity by 15% by the end of FY26, NFL is well-positioned to support India’s growing food security needs.
 

NFL is also advancing on its sustainability commitments. The company has initiated measures to reduce energy consumption across its manufacturing units and recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation to explore green hydrogen projects, aligning with India’s clean energy goals.
 

In line with its commitment to transparency and regulatory compliance, NFL has informed the stock exchanges about a Show Cause Notice (SCN) received from the Office of the Commissioner of Central Tax, Guntur. The notice pertains to a tax matter concerning refunds under the inverted duty structure for FY 2022–23. NFL is currently reviewing the notice and intends to file an appropriate appeal before the Commissioner (Appeals).
 

The company clarified that this development is part of routine tax audit procedures and does not have any material impact on its financial or operational performance. NFL remains fully compliant with applicable laws and confident of resolving the matter as per due legal process.
