New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) commemorated its 130th Foundation Day with a series of significant unveilings and initiatives aimed at honoring its legacy, enhancing customer experience, and fostering sustainability and community development.
At the celebration held in New Delhi on April 12, attended by esteemed dignitaries including Chief Guest DFS Secretary Dr. Vivek Joshi and PNB leadership, the bank unveiled a commemorative history book titled "Anarkali Bazaar, Lahore to Dwarka, Delhi – A 130 Years Saga of Excellence." This meticulously crafted book chronicles PNB's evolution since 1894, showcasing its enduring commitment to excellence and innovation.
Additionally, PNB introduced several new digital offerings such as Digi Education Loan, Digi Car Loan, Interoperable Cardless Cash Withdrawal (ICCW) through UPI, Kisan Credit Card Digital Review and DP (Drawing Power) enhancement, BHIM QR Soundbox with UPI 123 Pay, PNB Pay Wearable Debit Card, and Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) – iCMS. These innovations aim to enhance customer convenience and leverage technology for efficient banking solutions.
In line with its commitment to environmental sustainability, PNB launched PALAASH 2.0, building upon the success of its pilot project. PALAASH 2.0 focuses on initiatives such as tree plantation drives, digital libraries, and reducing carbon footprint, demonstrating the bank's dedication to environmental conservation.
Furthermore, PNB announced partnerships with NGO AROH Foundation and PNB PRERNA to establish a Mini Science Centre (MSC) at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Govt. School in Delhi as part of the STEM programme, emphasizing its commitment to education and community empowerment.
These initiatives underscore PNB's dedication to making a positive impact on society and fostering a sustainable future. The celebration concluded with a captivating performance by renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Dr. Subhadra Desai, adding a cultural touch to the commemorative event. /BI
