New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has declared its 400/220 kV Bidadi GIS Substation as a Pink Substation, marking its second such initiative in Southern Region-II. The move reinforces the organisation’s commitment to gender diversity and women empowerment in the power sector.
The Bidadi Pink Substation will be entirely operated and managed by women executives, highlighting efforts to create inclusive workplaces and encourage women’s participation in technical and leadership roles. The substation is being led by Reeni Rafi Alapatt, Deputy General Manager, Power Grid.
The Pink Substation was inaugurated by Mukund Sharad Hejib, Chief General Manager (In-Charge), Southern Region-II, in the presence of senior officials of the region. Power Grid has consistently been recognised as one of the Best Places for Women to Work, reflecting its strong focus on diversity, equal opportunity, and empowerment of women employees across all levels.
