New Delhi: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has reduced the prices of its packaged drinking water brand Rail Neer following the GST 2.0 reforms.
With the Goods and Services Tax on packaged drinking water cut from 18% to 5%, the Railway Ministry approved a revision in the Maximum Retail Price of Rail Neer bottles. A 500 ml bottle will now cost Rs 9 instead of Rs 10, while the price of a one-litre bottle has been reduced to Rs 14 from Rs 15.
The revised prices take effect from September 22, 2025. IRCTC is the latest company to transfer GST benefits to customers after the government introduced a simplified two-slab tax structure of 5% and 18%, along with a 40% rate for luxury and sin goods.
Shares of IRCTC were trading 0.49% lower at Rs 733.00 on the BSE.
