Nagpur: Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) has inaugurated an AMRIT Pharmacy at its headquarters in Nagpur under the Dispensary Management System (DMS) initiative. The facility was inaugurated by J.P. Dwivedi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, WCL, in the presence of Director (Finance) Bikram Ghosh, Director Technical (Operations and P&P) Anandji Prasad, Director (Human Resources) Hemant Sharad Pande, Chief Vigilance Officer Ajay Madhukar Mhetre, steering committee members Ashish Murthy and S.R. Gabale, representatives of the WCL Welfare Board Y.V. Ramana and A.P. Singh, along with senior officers, staff and employees.
The pharmacy will provide life-saving branded medicines, generic drugs, and surgical implants at discounted rates, offering timely and affordable healthcare not only to WCL employees but also to the public. Operated by HLL Lifecare Limited, AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India.
WCL also announced that similar AMRIT Pharmacies will soon be established at its Pathakhera and Chandrapur areas to further expand access to affordable healthcare.
