New Delhi: Innomotics India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of the Germany-headquartered Innomotics GmbH, has rolled out its first corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in India, with a focus on education and the welfare of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Structured around the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) framework, the company’s approach combines scholarships, infrastructure support, and partnerships with local NGOs to make long-term social investments in under-resourced communities.
At the core of this initiative is the Innomotics INGenius Scholarship Program, which will fund tuition, accommodation, books, internet, and stationery for students enrolled in engineering and diploma courses. The first group of 12 students has been selected based on academic merit, aspirations, and socioeconomic background. The scholarship also provides internships and soft skills training to help students become job-ready.
Alongside this, Innomotics is supporting vocational education and infrastructure upgrades in government-run schools, aiming to create more inclusive learning environments.
In Mumbai, the company has partnered with Sangopita and Desire Society to extend support to over 120 children. Sangopita supports children with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities, while Desire Society works with children living with HIV/AIDS. Assistance includes financial aid, career counselling, academic mentoring, and educational visits, such as a recent trip to the Nehru Science Planetarium.
“True success of our business is reflected in the positive impact that we deliver in the world around us,” said Satish Godbole, Executive Director, Innomotics APAC & ME. “By engaging our employees in meaningful CSR activities like these, we not only contribute to the well-being of our communities but also nurture a sense of purpose and fulfilment among our team members.”
Alex Nazareth, CEO of Innomotics India, spoke about the broader aim behind the initiative: “Our aim is to ensure local communities are given opportunities to overcome the disadvantages and achieve their true potential. Innomotics India not only ensures basic essentials through such initiatives, but also looks at the holistic development of the children.”
CFO Ankur Jindal added, “Our objective is to go beyond business requirements. We believe organisations have to be integrated into the society and bring positive changes to the communities around them to ensure progress is felt everywhere.”
What sets this CSR effort apart is its volunteer-driven approach. Every programme is led and implemented by Innomotics employees, reinforcing a culture of social engagement within the company. Based in Mumbai and with a 150-year legacy, Innomotics plans to deepen its work in both traditional and emerging energy sectors while contributing to sustainable community development.
