NSE and WE HUB join hands to boost women entrepreneurship and financial literacy in Telangana

Hyderabad: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and WE HUB Foundation, a state-run initiative for women entrepreneurs, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening financial literacy, supporting women-led MSMEs, and implementing a student skilling programme in the BFSI sector across Telangana.

The MoU was exchanged in Hyderabad in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, ITE&C and I&C Minister D Shridhar Babu, and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka. The agreement was signed between Sriram Krishnan, Chief Business Development Officer, NSE and Sita Pallacholla, CEO, WE HUB Foundation.

As part of this partnership, NSE and WE HUB will roll out investor awareness initiatives including seminars, road shows, workshops and knowledge sessions, specifically targeting women-led enterprises and students. The collaboration aims to guide women-led MSMEs in fundraising through the NSE Emerge platform and provide handholding support for the listing process.

The MoU also involves the implementation of the Student Skilling Program across Telangana, with a focus on equipping women with industry-relevant skills and enhancing their employability in the banking, financial services and insurance sector.

Telangana’s growing financial ecosystem, coupled with a state-backed women entrepreneurship hub like WE HUB, offers fertile ground for initiatives targeting women’s economic inclusion. WE HUB, a Section 8 not-for-profit entity under the Telangana government, works across urban and rural areas to incubate and support women-led enterprises.

“This partnership not only supports MSMEs and investors but also aligns with our broader vision of enabling women’s success across Telangana and driving sustainable economic growth”, said Sanjay Kumar, Special Chief Secretary, ITE&C and I&C Department, Government of Telangana, and Sita Pallacholla, CEO, WE HUB. “We are pleased to collaborate with the National Stock Exchange of India on this important initiative. Empowering women entrepreneurs, enhancing financial literacy and creating meaningful skilling opportunities for women are vital steps toward building a more inclusive and resilient economy.”

“Our unwavering commitment to advancing financial literacy, empowering investors, skilling students and raising awareness among MSMEs is at the heart of this initiative”, said Sriram Krishnan, Chief Business Development Officer, NSE. “Our collaboration with WE HUB Foundation and Government of Telangana marks a significant step in extending this vision. Through initiatives such as investor awareness programs, guidance on fundraising via the NSE Emerge platform and the Student Skilling Program, we are working to build a well-informed ecosystem for corporates and investors while preparing the youth with the essential skills to thrive in today’s evolving financial landscape.”

From April 2024 to March 2025, NSE conducted 14,679 investor awareness programmes across all 36 states and union territories in 14 languages, reaching over 8 lakh participants. Under the Student Skilling Program, more than 7,500 students have been trained across various states. So far, 615 companies from various sectors are listed on the NSE Emerge platform and have raised over ₹17,083 crore, with a total market capitalisation of approximately ₹1.8 lakh crore.
