Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore: PM Modi’s push for people-first governance revolution

New Delhi: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India continues to march towards realizing its vision of citizen-centric governance through innovative, transparent, and efficient practices. The upcoming Good Governance Week 2024, scheduled from December 19th to 24th, is a reflection to the Government’s commitment to ensure accessible and responsive governance for every Indian. This year, the focus is on decentralization, redressal of public grievances, and digital empowerment.

Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore: Bridging Governance and the Grassroots

One of the key highlights of the week is the nationwide campaign, Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore (Administration Towards Villages), which aims to improve service delivery and address public grievances at the grassroots level. This transformative initiative will bring governance to the doorstep of citizens, involving over 700 District Collectors, who will actively engage with Tehsil and Panchayat Samiti Headquarters across the country.

This is the third time the Government of India is conducting a national campaign at the tehsil level, underlining its dedication to making governance inclusive and participatory. By reaching the farthest corners of the nation, Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore seeks to create a national movement for good governance that will inspire future generations.

Unveiling Key Reports and Workshops for Progress

During the week-long celebration, several significant reports will be released, including the Good Governance Index 2023, the Annual Report of CPGRAMS (Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System), and the Assessment Report on Special Campaign 4.0. These documents will provide valuable insights into the Government’s efforts to institutionalize cleanliness (Swachhata), reduce pendency, and enhance decision-making efficiency in the Central Secretariat.

On December 23, 2024, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, will inaugurate a workshop on best practices implemented during Special Campaign 4.0. This initiative, conducted from October 2nd to 31st, 2024, focused on streamlining processes, reducing backlogs, and promoting institutional accountability in Central Ministries, Departments, and PSUs.

Digital Transformation and Empowerment

In line with PM Modi’s emphasis on digital transformation, the Good Governance Week 2024 will feature a dedicated portal (https://darpgapps.nic.in/GGW24), set to launch on December 11, 2024. The portal will serve as a dynamic platform where District Collectors can upload progress reports, best governance practices, and success stories, fostering collaboration and learning across the country.

Workshops on district-level innovations, chaired by District Collectors, will also take place on December 23, 2024. These sessions will highlight efforts towards the digital transformation of institutions and the empowerment of citizens through technology, reflecting PM Modi’s vision of a digitally empowered India.

Good Governance in Action

During the Good Governance Week 2024, specific data points will be tracked and shared on the portal, including Applications disposed of under service delivery, Grievances redressed through State and Central portals, New services added for online delivery, and Success stories in public grievance redressal.

These measures underscore the Government’s commitment to measurable and impactful governance reforms. By promoting best practices and ensuring transparency, the campaign aligns with PM Modi’s mantra of "Minimum Government, Maximum Governance."

With a strong emphasis on innovation, efficiency, and inclusivity, this campaign will not only address immediate public grievances but also pave the way for a future where governance serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for every citizen.

India is on the move, and under PM Modi’s leadership, good governance is no longer just an ideal but an everyday reality for millions.
