Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh accepts suspension order

Mumbai: Former Mumbai Police Commissioner and currently Director General of Police (DGP), Home Guards, Parambir Singh has his suspension order, say the media reports today, adding that the Government of Maharashtra has also received its acknowledgement.

It is worth mentioning that Singh, an IPS officer of 1988 batch, had been placed under suspension on Thursday after he was named as accused in at least five cases of alleged extortion registered in Mumbai and Thane.

Following the filing of extortion cases against him, he was untraceable, and was declared as absconding by a Mumbai Magistrate Court. Singh had earlier accused then State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of corruption. /BI/
