CII to organise fifth edition of Global Ayurveda Summit, 10th edition of Kerala Health Tourism Summit

Kochi: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is taking steps to position Kerala as the premier destination for medical value tourism.

In this direction, the CII is set to host the fifth edition of the Global Ayurveda Summit and the 10th edition of the Kerala Health Tourism Summit. These events, supported by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India and the Government of Kerala, are scheduled to take place at the Adlux International Convention Centre on October 26 and 27, said Aju Jacob, Vice Chairman of the CII.

Dr Saji Kumar, Managing Director of Dhathri Ayurveda, said for the first time a convergence of modern medicine and Ayurveda is being conducted in the state. The Ayurveda summit aims to provide a platform for experts, leaders and enthusiasts from around the world to explore the potential of holistic healing and medical value tourism.

Fr Johnson Vazhappilly, Executive Director and CEO of Rajagiri Hospital, emphasized that Kerala has already solidified its position as a sought-after destination for healthcare tourism. This reputation is attributed to the state's high-quality medical facilities, skilled healthcare professionals, cost-effective healthcare options and well-developed tourism and hospitality infrastructure.

In addition to the summit, an exhibition will be held, featuring a start-up pavilion that will showcase emerging trends and innovative ideas in healthcare and Ayurveda. /BI/
