Chennai: Indian Bank has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to offer an exclusive Salary Package account for state government employees. The move is aimed at strengthening the financial convenience and security of government staff through a range of upgraded banking features.

The package includes a zero balance account, unlimited free transactions, and enhanced insurance cover up to ₹176 lakh. This coverage spans life, accident, disability, and health contingencies. One of the key attractions is a premium RuPay Select Debit Card, which comes bundled with complimentary OTT subscriptions, airport lounge access, and wellness services.

The agreement was formally exchanged between Padmavathy Srikant (FGM – Chennai, Indian Bank), Satyanarayana MMK (ZM – Chennai South, Indian Bank) and T. Charushree, Director of the Treasury and Accounts Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. The exchange took place in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin, Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu, and Chief Secretary to the Government N. Muruganandam.

Indian Bank said the partnership reflects its effort to tailor financial offerings to suit the needs of public sector employees while enhancing the overall banking experience.
